Getting Closer

This week has been a rough one. Monday, no one came to work on the house. Tuesday I was so excited when the cabinet guys showed up, but they only dropped off some of our cabinets. Wednesday our 3 back ordered doors and the wood for around the doors and baseboards came. That night and early the next morning the painters stained and sealed the doors and wood. Thursday, the contractor came for about an hour and was driven out by the smell of the stain and sealer. The electriction came and told us to have all our light ready to be installed on Monday. We were both so discouraged. Robert kept saying there was no way that we would be in the end of next week.

Friday I asked the contractor when I could have the appliances delivered. (Home Depot had called and asked when they could deliver them.) He said to have them delivered on Monday (26th) so they could install them as the put the cabinets in. Friday our house was almost filled, three of the contractors, the tile guy, and the cabinet guys (they just dropped off more cabinets) were at the house.

This is our walk in shower. I hope it isn't too dark to see, because it is so pretty. Robert says it is HIS shower, I told I am sharing with him cause I can't remember the last time I got in the tub.

These are the closet doors that are in both guest bedrooms.


We just love our doors. These are going left to right. The front closet, bedroom and bathroom.

I just pulled one cabinet out to see the front. We are so excited.
Our house will be full tomorrow. The Contractors (3), the tile guy, the electriction, the plumbers, hopefully the stucco and rock guys will be there too. Our house is coming together. Then we will have to make it a HOME.

PS Sorry about the pics. They are so dark. After tomorrow,Maybe, we will have lights that we can turn on.

Catching up again

I finally got pictures of our painted walls,cupboards,closets and an unexpected guest.


This is our pantry, the door is back ordered, but could be here this week.


This is a pic of one wall in our walk-in closet. As you go into the closet this is on the right hand side. The back wall will have double rods for shirts and pants. The left side of the closet will have a section for dresses and more double rods. As you walk in on the left side will be a board with pegs for hanging what ever.

Robert is checking out the paint in the entrance way. It passed his inspection.

This is our unexpected guest. This has been a crazy year, I have seen several of them.
Ok this is the most beautiful part of our house so far. The rock work is almost done! The guys ran our of rock and needed to order more rock, but here is the front porch. We just love it.
As a side note: after church and on the way to the barn I was looking at the mountains and clouds. These are the Tushar Mountains.........there is snow on the mountains. Yuck!

Progress

The inside of our house is all painted, we chose Emily's Expression (there is a hint of yellow in it). I only have a pic of the garage. (Am I a slacker or what?)

The shelves are finished in all the closets they are painted, but not in these pics.

I took pictures of our walk in closet, but it was too dark to see anything. Need to work on that.
It is really looking great inside the house. The floor guys should be here this week and our cabinets next week.
The outside of the house is beautiful. I took this picture yesterday morning. It is so awesome to watch the workers find just the right pieces to put the rock together, like a puzzle.

Of course I didn't take a pic tonight but this is what it looked like this morning.

Robert talked to the contractor again today, he reassured him that we would be in the house by the 1st. Oh Yeah!

Last Friday, there were so many people working on our house. The sheetrock guy, the painters, the rock guys (for the outside of the house) and the stucco guys. Man everyone was so busy. There were men and vehicles everywhere.



The first two pics were taken from the office at the barn.

About noon the sheetrock guy had finished putting the texture on the walls and ceilings. We really like the ceiling and will like the walls (I hope) after they are painted. First is the ceiling the second is the walls.

I think last Wednesday the rock guys showed up and started putting the black paper on the house. Thursday the stucco guys came and redid what the rock guys had done wrong the day before. But they were both there Friday.
The painters (Jason Robb and another guy) started taping the windows ect and were ready when our interior doors arrived. They started staining them Friday afternoon.

The painters were the only ones who came on Saturday. They added another coat of stain to the doors. We have 3 doors that are back ordered.
We love to just walk through the house almost every night. So here goes the tour.
First we start in the garage with Robert and Maggie.

Next we are the kitchen looking at the living room. The far wall is where the entertainment center will be. The ceiling in the kitchen dining room isn't textured, we are going to put quakie tongue and groove on the ceiling.

Today is Tuesday, no one came on Monday, Today the painters were the only ones who came. Man it goes from a lot of work done to no work done! Impatience!

Blogging our house

It is hard for me to blog, cause I see the house EVERY day, and it seems to be going so slowly. But to those of you who aren't here, and keep suggesting that I post, here are some new shots of our house.
Here is our livingroom. I am crazy, but it is so messy, I have to go sweep sometimes just so the workers who are making the mess don't have to work in the mess.
Here is our bedroom with all the insulation.
Here they are hanging the sheetrock in the garage. It seems strange to walk in the garage and not be able to see clear through the house. But it is looking more like a home everyday. Here is what the entrance way looks like before sheetrock.

Our house now has electricity! Everything is wired, but there are only a few actual plug-ins' that are useable now. The heating and cooling ducts are in, along with the gas line; and they have passed inspection. They also have all the fireplace pipes through the roof ready to be assembled.

Here are a few pictures. First the livingroom/kitchen lights. There are 16 lights in this room.
On the 4th of July, Robert Ruby and I had a picnic on the back porch. These boxes were our table, how elegant.
We have had a little house guest right after we got our bathtub. It has been kind of fun watching out for him or her.

Morgan spent last week with us and her eyes just lit up when she found this special place under the stairs in the basement. She said, "This would be a great playhouse!" Who knows!
They installed our gas fireplace in the livingroom. It is going to be so awesome. We are going to put rock up the wall for the chimney.


Friday they started insulating the house. They came Saturday, Monday and today. They were suppose to have the sheetrock guys come and put up a couple of walls today (Robert gave me the night off, so I don't know if they came.)

I talked to the insulation guys today, and got a couple of pictures. I told them that they looked like "ghost busters" so now no one can have bad dreams in our house, cause the "ghost busters" were here.
